Let’s face it—presentations are generally terrible. Nobody wants to sit through a PowerPoint deck because, well, most are boring. That’s why it’s important to promote individuals who think differently about design and how they tell a story through presentations. That’s why I was thrilled when Slideshare and 3M asked me to be one of the judges for The World’s Best Presentation Contest.

Your presentations can fall in one of six categories: Business, Education, Technology, NPO/Government, Creative/Offbeat, and About Me. Prizes include a Macbook, 3M Pocketprojectors, and much more. You have until November 8th to enter. Please read the information and rules and give us your best!

I wrote about the 2009 winners in a column for Businessweek.com.

You probably have a wonderful idea to pitch but the way you present that idea can make or break it. A great PowerPoint can make the difference between success and irrelevance. Even if you don’t enter, you can see the entries and the winning designers to get some tips for your next PowerPoint.
